Anna Coit & Nita Kincaid Memorial Scholarship
For some years the North Stonington Garden Club has offered a scholarship.in memory of Anna Coit. This year, and in the future, the scholarship will also honor past-President and long-time member Nita Kincaid, who died in 2024.
We have begun accepting applications for 2025. The $3,000 scholarship is granted annually to a graduating high school senior pursuing higher education in Agriculture, Conservation, Environmental Studies, Horticulture, Landscape Design/Architecture, Plant Science, or a related field.
Applicants must reside in towns from which the Club draws its membership. Currently these are: North Stonington, Bozrah, Groton, Ledyard, Mystic, New London, Noank, Norwich, Pawcatuck, Preston, Sterling, Stonington, and Waterford, CT and Ashaway, Charleston and Westerly, RI.

The 2024 recipient was Tyler Bannon.
Tyler is a graduate of Westerly High School where he has been on its Honor Roll and is a member of the National Honor Society. He has volunteered at Ocean Recovery Community Alliance and has worked at a local organic farm where he has learned composting, planting and transplanting plants, and caring for the crops and the animals. Tyler will be attending the Community College of Rhode Island where he will study Environmental Science. His goal is to become a Conservation Officer.
