Anna Coit & Nita Kincaid Memorial Scholarship

For some years the North Stonington Garden Club has offered a scholarship.in memory of Anna Coit. This year, and in the future, the scholarship will also honor past-President and long-time member Nita Kincaid, who died in 2024. 

BRADY CASADY WINNER OF 2026 NSGC’S $3000 ANNA COIT/NITA KINCAID MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

North Stonington Garden Club announces Brady Casady as the 2026 winner of the $3,000 Anna Coit/Nita Kincaid Memorial Scholarship. Formal presentation of the award took place at the North Stonington Garden Club’s June 17th General Meeting.

Brady is a senior at Westerly High School where he is a member of the National Honor Society, president of 4 WHS clubs, Vice President of the Westerly Senior Class Council, student representative to the Town of WesterlySchool Committee, Youth Health Ambassador for RI Dept of Health and numerous other programs. He volunteered for the Westerly Land Trust, Westerly Hospital, Terranova Farm Sanctuary and Ocean Research & Conservation Association.

Brady will be attending Brown University where he will study Environmental Science and Public Health. He is interested in learning “how environmental factors influence healthcare systems and howaccess to natural resources can affect medical risks”.

The North Stonington Garden Club awards a Memorial Scholarship each year to a candidate pursuing a higher degree in agriculture, conservation, environmental studies, horticulture, landscape design/architecture plant science or a related field.
