Anna Coit & Nita Kincaid Memorial Scholarship
For some years the North Stonington Garden Club has offered a scholarship.in memory of Anna Coit. This year, and in the future, the scholarship will also honor past-President and long-time member Nita Kincaid, who died in 2024.
We have begun accepting applications for 2025. The $3,000 scholarship is granted annually to a graduating high school senior pursuing higher education in Agriculture, Conservation, Environmental Studies, Horticulture, Landscape Design/Architecture, Plant Science, or a related field.
Applicants must reside in towns from which the Club draws its membership. Currently these are: North Stonington, Bozrah, Groton, Ledyard, Mystic, New London, Noank, Norwich, Pawcatuck, Preston, Sterling, Stonington, and Waterford, CT and Ashaway, Charleston and Westerly, RI.

MARCO URSINI WINNER OF 2025 NSGC’S $3000 ANNA COIT/NITA KINCAID MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
North Stonington Garden Club announces Marco Ursini as the 2025 winner of the $3,000 Anna Coit/Nita Kincaid Memorial Scholarship. Formal presentation of the award will take place at the North Stonington Garden Club’s June 17th General Meeting.
Marco is a senior at Robert E. Fitch High School where he is a member of the National Honor Society, Captain of the wrestling and golf teams and a Peer tutor. He has volunteered for Unified Sports, Sneakers for Funds, Holiday drives, and beach clean ups. Marco also works part time as a recreation assistant and beach maintenance worker. Marco will be attending Worcester Polytechnic Institute where he will study Environmental Engineering. His goal is to pursue a Ph.D. with a specialty in renewable energy sources.
The North Stonington Garden Club awards a Memorial Scholarship each year to a candidate pursuing a higher degree in agriculture, conservation, environmental studies, horticulture, landscape design/architecture plant science or a related field.
